GODSMACK
RECEIVE SEVEN BOSTON MUSIC AWARD NOMINATIONS
INCLUDING "ACT OF THE YEAR"

SOLD-OUT HOMETOWN SHOW SET TO BE TAPED
FOR FORTHCOMING HOME VIDEO/DVD RELEASE
There's a lot of excitement in store for GODSMACK in their hometown of Boston, MA in the coming weeks. Leading the list of nominees, GODSMACK received seven Boston Music Award nominations including nods for "Act of the Year," "Best Rock Band" and "Male Vocalist of the Year" for frontman SULLY ERNA. In addition, the band's platinum-certified AWAKE (Republic/Universal) is up for "Album of the Year" while its first single and video--the #1 mainstream rock track "Awake"--is nominated for "Song of the Year," "Single of the Year" and "Video of the Year." The 14th annual Boston Music Awards are set to take place April 19 at the Orpheum Theatre.

Meanwhile, GODSMACK--vocalist SULLY, guitarist TONY ROMBOLA, bassist ROBBIE MERRILL and drummer TOMMY STEWART-are gearing up for the launch of their biggest tour to date on February 26. Called "Wake The Fuck Up," the headlining trek features a special homecoming show March 2. Set to perform in Worcester, MA that night, GODSMACK sold out the city's biggest venue--the 15,000-capacity Worcester Centrum--in one day. This career-defining show will be documented in its entirety for a forthcoming home video and DVD to be released later this year.

"We're really excited about putting together a show that we've really wanted do," says SULLY. "At this stage, this is gonna be one of the best rock productions of 2001 for the size of venues that we're playing." GODSMACK will deliver what promises to be an intense musical and theatrical experience to 5,000-8,000 seat venues through April. They'll be supported by fellow Boston-area band Staind as well as Cold and Systematic.
