Godsmack's 'Smack This!' DVD In Stores April 9th on Republic/Universal Records

NEW YORK, March 27 -- A behind the scenes account of Godsmack's ascent from Boston garage band to the multi-platinum act they are today will be released on April 9th from Republic/Universal Records. Filmed by Godsmack themselves, Smack This! lets fans live the rock 'n roll life with one of today's most successful rock bands.

Smack This! is a five year video diary that tracks the bands early days in Boston through the making of Godsmack's 4x platinum self-titled debut album to performing for packed houses across the nation. Filled with live performances, back stage footage and interviews with Godsmack, fans can get up-close and personal with the band which consists of Sully Erna (vocals), Tony Rombola (guitar), Robbie Merrill (bass) and Tommy Stewart (drums).

Never before seen concert footage showcases the raw stage presence of Godsmack and treats viewers to an array of chart topping hits and fan favorites. From their record breaking first single "Whatever" to the show stopping "Get Up Get Out" fans will be able to follow the band off stage and experience what happens when the music stops.

Upcoming for Godsmack is the soundtrack to Universal Pictures' The Scorpion King, the third installment of The Mummy movie series. Godsmack's new track and lead single "I Stand Alone," is currently assaulting the airwaves and climbing radio charts. The soundtrack to The Scorpion King is due March 26th on Universal Records.

Besides being nominated for a 2002 Grammy and named Billboard's Rock Artist Of The Year for 2001, Godsmack is also up for several 2002 Boston Music Awards taking place April 11th. Nominations include Rock Band of the Year, Single of the Year ("Greed"), Male Vocalist of the Year (Sully Erna), Song of the Year ("Greed" written by Erna) and Video of the Year ("Greed").
