NEW YORK, April 23 -- Republic/Universal Records artist Godsmack added another #1 song to their long list of chart topping hits this week. The band's track and the first single from Music From and Inspired by The Motion Picture The Scorpion King, "I Stand Alone" climbed to the #1 position on the Active Rock radio chart. The soundtrack to the Universal Pictures movie, The Scorpion King, has remained in the Top 10 of Billboard's Top 200 Albums chart since its release March 26th.

The song is Godsmack's 7th consecutive Top 5 charting track, beginning with "Whatever", the first track off of their Republic/Universal multi-platinum debut release, which went on to stay on the chart for over a year. "I Stand Alone" has also been #1 Active Rock track at Mediabase's "Rate The Music.com" survey for 10 straight weeks.

Recently Godsmack won two Boston Music Awards: Outstanding Rock Band -- Major Label, and lead singer Sully Erna won for Outstanding Male Vocalist -- Major Label. On April 9th, Godsmack released a home video DVD entitled Smack This!, a collection of back stage footage and live performances.

Godsmack has been named "#1 Rock Band of the Year" for the last two years by BDS, R&R and Album Network. They are currently writing and recording new music for their next full length album.
